How to write code outside of Codecademy!
Learning to code with Codecademy is simple, but you're probably wondering how you can write code when you're offline, too.
Where do the pros write code?
Just like you use the Codecademy editor, developers use editors like Sublime 2 or Notepad ++. You can even use a basic text program like TextEdit! (But not Microsoft Word, sadly.)
Try it! Open up TextEdit on your computer and type:

html
html
and save the file as test.html. Then go ahead and open the file with your browser by right-clicking and selecting "Open with browser." You'll see "My own webpage!" there on the screen. Amazing, right?
Getting set up with JavaScript, Ruby, or Python is a bit trickier, so we've created Codecademy Labs to help you out.
